So keep in mind that I am not a homeowner or a monetarily invested party as far as the chickens are concerned.
The time I've put into them is..well incalculable with my memory but I assure you it's a lot.
Anyway my point is that their run is too small but I didn't build it, and can't...
I dewormed the flock recently, so worms are ..possible I guess but not likely. I gave her a sauna treatment and felt around for an egg (no go) :/ my friend keeps telling me she's congenitally weak and susceptible because she's purebred. I just don't know. :(
Two days ago, I went down to visit the chooks and as always they all mashed themselves against their wire enclosure to see if I had food. I noticed Lola wasn't there, and when I went around the front she was asleep standing up. She normally slaps me in the face and doesn't like being carried...
As I mentioned, I did a deep cleaning yesterday... the coop is sunny and in fresh air...it's not damp here at all. I am guessing it's chicken pee. Not sure what else to absorb that with, since I am definitely not gonna have them walking on wire... not sure what a long term mold control protocol...
I know this is delayed, but in case someone in trouble finds this thread, I fed my chicken sickie chickie food by hand for 4 days and continued with molasses water and some baytril. She recovered and is doing quite well. I included the recipe for reference.
It was definitely botulism.

My chicken has been sick for a little over a week and has been separated from the others for that time. She is 6 months old, and before she became sick, was probably about 6 lbs.
Her comb itself looks okay, but the base of it...like the skin around it..has crackled white stuff. ..they're like...
I have a 16 week old Buff Orpington who is as sweet as can be. She's always been slightly smaller than her sister.
She has a bent neck, and cannot really lift her head. She's been somewhat squinty in her right eye for a few days, and I've seen her panting periodically for the last couple...
