Hi all. It seems like ‘what color is this Muscovy’ is a perpetual question. I have truly look at a ton of pics and I can’t decide. Can anyone tell me if this Muscovy is silver, lavender, or something completely different? Thanks!
I'm sorry I can't answer your question, but I sure wish I could. I've had that happen twice to apparently healthy roos (hens are all normal) in the last 3 months. If you find out anything (or if you already have), would you please let me know. Thanks!
I'll admit, I didn't read this whole thread. But get a copy of Storey's Guide to Raising Chickens. It's a great book and will help you with so many issue when you're first starting out. I agree with everyone else, get the coop set up first. Figure out how many layers you want, then double or...
My first isbar eggs are on their way and should be here today! I'm very excited. Greenfire is selling some on Rare Breed Auctions; it sounds like it's something new for them. After the weather warms up a bit, I hope to get a few more from the west coast.... Send me good shipping/incubating...

Just wanted to say thanks publicly. I received some of these amazing eggs during our heat wave of 100+ temps and still had an 80% hatch rate. Now, I should also admit that this was my first hatch in a new incubator, and it was my first hatch in about 10 years, and it was my second hatch ever...
It seems that many of the people on this particular board have been working on Lavender Orpingtons for some time. I am new to chickens and new to color genetics. I have a few questions and I hope that you guys wouldn't mind teaching me a bit. I understand blue Andalusian genetics and the...
Welcome to the forum! I just did a search to see how to age turkeys, and came up with nothing. (I'm usually pretty good at searching, too.) Maybe try posting the question in the relevant forums? There are so many nice people here, and it's unusual for me to not find the answer to my question...
Welcome to BYC! I'd think giving them some time to adjust and treating them just like you've always treated the others would be the way to go. But there are lots more people here with years and years of experience that can help more. If you don't get the answers here, you may need to try...
