  • Has anyone else noticed the rules chicks seem to instinctively know?

If it’s in my beak, it’s mine.
If it’s in your beak, it’s mine.
If it’s near me and you want it, it’s mine.
If you are in my path, I will walk on you or push you out of the way.
If I’m not eating and there is food in the feeder, I will act like I’m starving if you add more food, plus I will give you the evil eye while you fill it. 🤣
My wife and I finally decided on names for our 3 week old flock of girls. The names are Rita and Janet for our 2 Sicilian Buttercups, named after the “grannies” on Bluey. The Black Australorp is Blackberry. The Buff Orpington is Chickita, because she is banana colored. The Barred Rock is named Sprinkles. The Rhode Island Red is Curry. The Easter Egger is Nugget. And our Blue Laced Red Wyandotte is named Hey-Hey.
I just got my first ever flock of 8 chicks. I find that I spend a lot of time watching these little girls and their antics. I can already see who will be the queen of the roost. One looked a little lethargic , but after showing her where the water and food was, she perked right up. They are going to make great pets.
