Yes a white one would have to be done with vent or wait to see if it starts to talk, if it crows like the adult males than its a boy. I dont like to vent my birds. Just weird for me...

The yellow will turn out either all white or white with a brown spot... they are super cool as I have an all yellow chic too...

Update, it did not make it... Good news is I have had 3 more hatch and that gives me 7 so far and more have pipped so more to come I hope. I really do love my all blonde/yellow chic though.. I will post pic later and thanks for all the help.

This is a pic of my first little quail from my first ever batch. So far I put 9 eggs in and 2 never took and I have 2 that have pipped so I am hoping for more.

I have 10 quail now and I would love to put in a couple egg laying hens in with them too. Is this a problem and if not what type of chicken goes well with the corturnix quail? Also remember I live in Northern Michigan so cold weather is an issue. Thanks, Tim

I do my day 12 dandling tomorrow before I go into lock down and since this is my first time, my question is what do you guys do with your bad eggs? Do you examine them to see if they started or not or do you just trow them out? Thanks, Tim
