Any update on your birds? Just got a new flyer from Noll's they have raised thier prices some on the meat birds. Still cheaper than most other places. Let us know how they are doing.
How many of you use electric netting for meat birds, how big and what kind do you use and how often do you have to move them for say 50 or 100 birds? I have been looking at Kenco they seem to be the least expensive but not sure of quality. Any one have any pro's or cons with electric netting. I...
You might want to try Rosambro's from MT-DI I have raised them with good success. At 10 weeks or so they dressed out at 5lbs dressed and had huge breast unlike other more traditional broilers I have raised. They are a french breed and seemed to do well. I have also done Kosher Kings and they...
WOW sorry to hear that! I have had really good luck with them even in 100 degree KS summers. Out of the last 100 I did I only lost maybe two to leg issues and the rest to me squashing, pulling the tractor over or what ever. LOL Oh well I did not do any this summer I hope this does not mean thier...
I have raised both and have had very few leg issues with the KK. Maybe one out of 100 or so. Which could have also been caused by getting hit with the chicken tractor. They are very healthy over all in my opinion.
Nice photos, They look good. Let us know thow they finish out. I noticed yours have more yellow legs than the ones I raised. Mine had alot of black on the legs?
Oregon blues that is 75 lbs in the first 4-5 weeks of feed, also from personal experience the KK will dress out at 5 lbs at about 11 weeks old. (at least 5 lbs dressed) They are also .60 cents a chick verus the 1.25 - 1.50 per freedom ranger. So you could almost buy twice the KK for the price of...

Well the activity and the lesser amount of feed is probably the differance. But 75lbs less feed is a big savings. That would be about 20.00 dollars right there. I have done both and like the KK a little better do to the fact I found them more hardy. They may take a week or so longer but the...
