I understand that and wouldn't want something bad to happen. When you use a heat plate it only heats up under it. Then when the venture out to eat and drink they get chilled and go back under the plate. They need a constant temp as well as 95-98 depending on the breed. Sorry about your loss...

Usually hatcheries throw in extra's of the same breed and type of chicken of the one you ordered. There is usually some kind of sexing guarantee but would never intentionally throw in a roo! Glad they are all happy and healthy! Did they turn out to be roo's or hen's?
