I'm sorry. It's really hard to lose our chickens. I still haven't finished the ramp hole or skirt...maybe this weekend. Guess I'll do some landscaping with those pavers.

No good pointers here. I got Bantam and standard chicks at the same time so they are fine together. I have been letting them all out in the yard (with the 3 yo hens) together to get them used to each other. A few minor scrabbles but nothing serious. I do throw some scratch to divert the hens'...
I had to think through this concept, along with a couple more posts but I get it. The coop is close to cement so I can't go out very far - 12 on is pushing it. Thanks for the help!

I now have the 3 month old Polish in a cage with the 2 six week old Bantams, in the coop. They get along great! Real pleased.
Now if I could just find a place for the 3 Bantam cockerels - one Porcelain d'uccle, 1 mille de fleur d'uccle and 1 black Cochin with the frizzled gene...I put on...

I really like the idea of tree branches, but I haven't been able to find any that I think would be the right size. I don't mind scraping boards. I just want to scrub them about twice per year to get the crud down to the stains. I never found the roosts to emit ammonia though.
