These two girls havn't laid in over a week now. They are over 4 years old and have really slowed down production. So that was one reason I wanted to get some OE's.
We are supposed to get some rain here tomorrow, so I don't think I will put them outside. Hopefully by Friday it will be warm enough to let the girls outside and take some more pics.

I went with the Genesis Hovabator for my first hatching attempt. Found local eggs, picked up 18. 14 out of the 18 hatched. Turned by hand, 3-5 times a day. Very happy with the results...will be trying shipped eggs for the second batch when they arrive this week.
I have added baby chicks once to an established flock. I originally make a small temporary pen just outside of the main run. I put the new chicks in that pen during the days, provided its warm enough around weeks 3-6. Then I just throw them into the main run once I think they are feathered out...
