Unfortunately, we got them at a tractor supply store, where they kept ALL the bantams in the same brooder. We only knew what we were getting because we made sure they had feathered feet.
Thanks for your help!
Hey all!
Was wondering if you might be able to tell me the sex/color of these babies? The grayish ones. I'd call them silver if they were iridescent. They're smooth silkies (silkie/Cochin) or cochins.
Photo 1 is both, 2&3 are Hope, and 4&5 are Grace.
Thanks!
Yes, we know. :) Hoping you might be able to help anyway.
We got them at the tractor supply nearest us, and it was literally a brooder of bantams, we only knew we were getting at least part silkies from the feathery feet (and what the lady told us--they hadn't gotten bantam cochins, only...
Hi!
I got some silkies from a mixed batch of bantams, and was wondering the color.
I know the one in the back is a black, but what color are the other two?
Sex of all three?
I'm thinking Lucky(black) might be a boy b/c streamers, and maybe Grace (left) b/c of the comb. Let me know, please...
I am fairly certain that the store had Australorps, black sex-linked, and Jersey giants when we got her, but there were a lot of different chicks there. I know she's far too small to be a jersey giant.
And if it helps at all, when she's upset about anything, she raises her neck feathers...
Her eggs are large and light brown. The smaller egg is from one of our silkies.
I'm assuming she came from a hatchery, but we got her from the Concord Feed (concord,ca) last February, and they get a larfe variety of new chicks twice a week during the spring,
Thank-you everyone for helping!
This is Vader. She's not much larger than our silkies, only about 5lbs at 8months old. We think she's a she because she's laying, but theres a lot of other conflicting things about her.
Any ideas on breed?
Thanks!
