now that they have gotten outside more I have been able to watch closer…..the one I question being a roo is obviously more aggressive, appears to be raising/fluffing neck feathers (hackle feathers?) and the others just run away. They are between 5-6 weeks old so I imagine it should become...

just laid her 1st egg and I got to see her do it!!!!!!!!!

our chickens are fed grower still..... I don't consider them free range but I do let them out some during the day but not much since now they have no interest in going in their portable run... the shell on the egg we got today seemed fine but I will get some oyster shell to offer anyway...

I finally got my 1st egg today .....YEAH!!! and it's time for more feed..... I have some grower left and will buy some layer tonight to add to it....do I also need the oyster shell? Debbie

heard some strange noises from the chicken coop/run earlier, walked out and noticed a chicken was missing..looked in the coop, there she was acting FUNNY.....squatting,standing, squatting standing and OUT CAME THE EGG!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! Debbie

wash it, wipe it, put a date on it??? what? how long do they keep in fridge? how soon do I need to refrigerate them after they are laid?

He/she is 15 weeks... These are the best pics I can get..... this chicken simply will NOT stay still..LOL So far I have not heard any obvious crowing... although he/she seems to be very vocal if all the other chickens are out of his/her sight....

6 chickens and not far.... just depends on where I move the run to. Probably the farthest would be 100 feet... I don't mind carrying them but I don't wanna stress them out because they don't seem to like being carried too much...
