    I ended up with Best of breed on the silkies with a white pullet and Reserve of breed with a black hen. 5 exhibitors and 44 silkies in open class..... On the standard cochins I got #1 old black hen out of 5. Surprised the heck out of me on that one..... the barred pullet I brought got #2...

    It was way easier to do the cochins that way....done in less than 10 minutes for both birds. I also mummy wrapped them in a towel while I did the next few birds. It got them pretty dry to begin with. Then they went in a large dog carrier with just a light on them. Heck with blow drying that...

    most of the sale birds on the silkies.... I do have to disagree on bathing them. The cochins are much easier! Just strip down and take them in the shower with you.... they don't have the crests to comb through either.
