Does anyone here have elderberries? And what do you do with them?

Those are definitely elderberries. I just picked a quart yesterday and froze them and then put them in vacuum seal bags in two cup portions. Later I will either make tincture or jelly. haven't decided yet which., may be both. I did feed my chickens the berries I didn't feel like picking over...

It's sad at my house this morning. I lost four yesterday in the egg. Long story I'll make it short,,,,had one hatch early in the morning , left it in the incubator to fluff,,,,went to son's for a little bit, not even an hour, came home, nothing yet,,,,grabbed a bite to eat, checked this morning...

Update! I have three chicks in the brooder, one in the incubator and four eggs pipping! So excited! My first time incubating. I know, 'don't count your chickens until they're hatched' , I am not , I am patiently waiting to see if the last four completely hatch as easy as the first four did

Thank you so much! I so far have 3 chicks hatched. The first chick had issues, umbilical cord wrapped around it's leg, got that taken care of and it has curled feet, so it is in 'shoes' right now,,seems to be walking better already. It is in the brooder by itself as the other two just hatched in...

    First time incubating have questions

I am in lockdown mode and today I heard a chirp from one of the eggs! Three eggs had to be discarded as there was nothing in them. The other 8 are full and hope to have some chicks real soon. The brooder is ready for them.

What you using on the floor of your brooder? And what size crate is that? I'm thinking about using my dog kennel that is folded in the garage,,,,but not sure it's big enough.

    February 2023 hatch-a-long

I'm hatching, but not with shipped eggs. My DIL has chickens and roosters, so she gave me 11 eggs. We are in the lockdown now and I heard peeps coming from one egg. I'm so excited! This is my first time trying to incubate. Out of 11 eggs, I had to discard 3, they had nothing in them. :( But the...
