Do they turn upwards when a frizzle is feathering out ? As I have a few which could be either frizzled or straight feather.
Any other indications would be grand.

Hi Michelle,
My partner and I think it looks more like a hen as we cannot see any wattles growing under its beak at the back however you have not said how old it is, that may help a little as it maybe a little early to tell.
That is our thoughts at this time.
Warmest Regards
Dr Rob & Sarah.

Most Breeders in the UK use these sort of styrofoam boxes to send hatching eggs, I have noticed that they are not available in the US maybe someone could ask a styrofoam manuafacturer to start producing them.

Hi,
Try not to worry too much, the heat should dry it out and it should heal up, the only thing to watch out for is other chicks pecking at it, it is very rare for them to do this but sometimes they can.
I am sure everything will be OK.
Congratulations on your new Fuzzy Butt !
Regards
Dr Rob.
I never mentioned their ages - sorry !
The Roo was born last May so he is just over 10 months old and the 2 Hens were born early March so they are 12 months old.
They were left to start laying naturally and only started in the last month - nothing was rushed, we just let nature take its course...
