It isn’t rubbery. I’ve had a hen (not this one) lay a lash egg before and this seems different. It feels hard like a normal egg. None of my hens have been showing any obvious signs of anything wrong.

This is helpful info! Can I ask if her balance or movements were compromised while she was healing? I have a hen that sustained more than one injury from a predator. She’s seen a vet and has meds for the other wounds and he said her eye should heal ok. But I’m not sure he was able to witness...

My Poppy and Pepper are great! They make some crazzzzzy noises compared my two red hens. They also had to “survive” an extensive *hazing* phase from the red hens. 🙄🙃 It took forever but they all get along now. Hope your Pepper and Poppy are doing well! I saw in a post further down the thread...
