  • Reply from Yinepu: For emu eggs you have to weigh them to gauge weight loss for determining humidity since there isn't a cheap way to monitor air cells. (if you have a flir camera or other heat sensing camera you can usually get an idea where the air cell is.. however they are rather expensive so most people do not have access to them). I weigh each emu egg before setting then again once a week throughout incubation since I don't usually set more than 20 at a time for larger amounts of eggs you can take a sampling of the eggs from inside the incubator and then average the weights and base humidity on that
    The humidity isn't affected so much by the number of eggs.. it's based on shell porosity and relation of that particular egg to the fan

How do you monitor your egg cell growth with emu eggs? Is humidity affected by the size of the egg incubation ie 6 egg vs 40 eggs and if so do you set for the average and tape off the ones high on weight loss? thanks Lois
