    Rooster is a JERK!

My birds are just over two months old now. They are getting big, I had two (maybe three) roosters in the coop. I gave one away and waiting to see if the other one that I think is a rooster turns out to be one. The one that I know is a rooster is a prick! Just all around doesn't like me, he...

    Roo?

Where at in East TN? I'm going to try and sell on CL's, if nothing happens then I will need to figure out how to separate him and wait till 6 months for a crock pot roast to happen.

    Roo?

Thank you all, I was thinking it was one. This is my first attempt with chickens, funny little creatures. Anyone in the Eastern Tennessee area that wants a Rooster? I'll sell him cheap, or I'm going to cook him.

    Roo?

It is really into looking at me. It does fluff it's neck feathers when I come into the coop. This is the only one that does this. I am suppose to have a Black Austrolorp Roo, but I can't see any signs of him yet. This one just acts funny.23yu

    solar heater free heat

I need to try this, it would be great for the coop and for the workshop once I get that built. Might even consider one of these to help supplement the heat in the basement area. Great post!

    Wow.....Chickens!!!

I am a first time chicken owner, so this might seem funny to most. While I have been reading that the birds will grow fast. It just seemed that we would see the progress over time. Well, yesterday I went to check the water and make sure the food was good, we have Chickens! The chicks are...

    solar heater free heat

Are they full cans? Or just using the air and metal as spacing? Seems like a good idea, I am interested in how well it works.

    Log Cabin project has begun.

I don't like the door, so I will need to put some wood on the front of it to make it match the rest. But the door is functional and the girls are out of my stooge room and in there own house..... The coop is done! I will up date the roost bars and add nesting boxes, but I have awhile to...

    Log Cabin project has begun.

I have built countless buildings and almost all of them have been square, they had to be. If off a little bit the rest will not fit together right. This is my first time trying a non-modern building design. I do have to admit, I didn't draw a single plan or design for this coop. I just...

    Log Cabin project has begun.

I'm using both. Hardware cloth outside the coop where the predators have room to try and get into the run. Chicken wire on the inside of the coop where space is limited and there isn't enough room for the predators to chew or pull on the wire.

    Log Cabin project has begun.

Got the gable ends covered with saplings, next will be doing the chicken wire and hardware cloth protection. Followed by the door, still haven't figured out that yet.

    Log Cabin project has begun.

Greatest tool ever invented for cutting metal!!!!! Other half the roof on and ridge cap put on. The roof is done, now I have to finish the end walls and put Hardware cloth up and turn this into the Brooder for the final weeks of growth. Then the run build will start.

    Log Cabin project has begun.

Work some more on the coop this week. I have decided to stop the walls, working alone most the time and dealing with large logs is dangerous with out the right equipment. So, a come-a-long and block and tack is not going to make it safe for me to go any higher with the walls. So, I have left...
