    It takes a bit for feathers and bills to change we noticed changes starting at about 8 weeks. Male runners dont quack and females do, males just kinda squeak.     We are not sure about the girls, we got the chicks from a local petting farm that has cochins, barnvelders, silkies, buffs and leghorns. Ours seem to be a cross. some of them are pretty goofy looking. The owner of the farm is always incubating during their season (may-oct) so people can see them...
