Well, the chickens were in their own yard, and the dog was trespassing. The chickens were not in the dog's yard. The neighbors obviously aren't good ones. The dog will be back. Be ready.

It's been 8 days since the surgery. My eye is healing well. It wasn't painful and the recovery has been uneventful so far. My eye felt a little scratchy for a day and was dialated for a week. The blurryness is quite a bit better. It will take a few weeks for my brain to learn how to adapt...

Even if you don't want restitution or hard feelings, the neighbors need to know the dog is an issue. Otherwise, they can play ignorant when it happens next time. If you have more chickens, the dog will do it again. Make sure the neighbors know to keep it on their own property.

I can focus a bit better today. Now my right eye sees a bit better than my left. They can't focus together. It will probably take weeks.

Either shoot them or document everything and sue them in small claims court. I sued and won. It was a lot of work but well worth the effort. I wasn't home when it happened, but my son and daughter-in-law were. Neighbors witnessed also.

DH finally got his results. The lab ended up having to do it twice so it took over two weeks for results after the biopsy. The prayers worked. It's not cancer, but it still has to be removed. He had an MRI today so they can figure out what needs to be done to get it out.
