I've had Narragansett hen a few years now, and love their color. It took me 3 years to find a tom for them. DH and I brought this boy home Sunday, and today I saw him treading one of the hens.

It looks like all toms, but I can't see the 2nd from the right's head. If it has fuzz, I'd say hen. If all bald them tom.

Go to Porter's rare turkeys and look up Oregon Grey and Dark Grey. We have Oregon Grey and it sounds like what he is describing.

No one? I did a search and came up with plenty of post but no image results. Google was no better. Surly someone has Golden Narragansetts ?

If you have Golden Narragansetts please post some pictures :) . I have the standard colored ones and would like to see the difference.

The only breed I'm having trouble locating is standard Narragansett. I have 5 hens and can't find a tom for them. Last summer I could have traded a flock of 9 Light Brahma chickens for a flock of 7 breeding age Palms, and my DH talked me out of it. I was out of pen space and he wasn't ready to...

You are right Royal Palms look similar, but have more white. Good luck on finding some, you shouldn't have too much trouble, they are a popular breed.

Thanks, but the big tom is a grey not a palm. He is around 5 years old now.

I swapped a young white tom for these two turkeys yesterday. Keeping them separate but in sight, has caused a lot of noise this morning , but it is very entertaining watching them interact through the fence.

She seemed healthy . I don't have a clue why her eggs were only partially filled , but believe it had something to do with her death.

I lost a year old hen, she was half game half EE . She laid pretty green eggs, but last month her eggs started floating, even the day she laid them. When they were cracked open they had very little white in them, a normal yoke and lots of air. The shells were normal and smooth, with no cracks...
