    Introducing New Chicks....

I have been introducing my two week old chicks to my 2month old chickens by allowing the little ones to come out during the day while it is warm. When it cools down I take them back in the house under their heat lamp. This is working out great. The older two seem just fine with the chicks in...

    Orpingtons and Heat

Your birds and lawn are beautiful.... I read a post on this site that talked about freezing bottles of water to cool the coupe. It said that the birds will sometime lie on them or next to them. I hope this helps. Janine

10 day old chick laying down in odd position???

I have a 10 day old Australorp pullet. Sometimes she lies down on her side with her legs stretched out. Just the way a dog would lie down. Other than that she seems active and healthy but very skittish compared to my Amaberlink chick who is very friendley. Should I be worried? Thanks Janine

Thanks for the tip of how to pick up baby chicks...."from below instead of from above" It made sense to me and when I tried it it works so much better! ahhhhhhh simple solutions.

TODAY WAS THE DAY Update PG 10!!

I have conducted many interviews myself. Everyone that has written in have good advice. My advise is to be early, enthusiastic and honest when answering questions. For instance if they ask you if you can work on Sunday and you cannot work on Sundays than do not say yes. Another thing to...

    Amber link

I am told that they are big, fat, friendly, and good layers. I can't find anything on them. I am only getting one. The others I plan to get are australorp, araucana, and buff Orpington. They will be pets/ eggs. Thanks for your post. Janine:)
