I lost a few of my recently hatched legbar pullets to a predator. Brand new pen, now a giant forcefield. Anyways, I'd like to replace them so I'm looking for 3-6 legbar pullets day old to a week old so they'll be same size as the girls that I still have. Looking to purchase ASAP.
I am also...
Thank you! I'll check tonight. I don't think that this is a splash bird. I just wondered if it might be useful towards a future splash project. This is so so helpful!!! I am very new to color genetics in birds.
Interesting! I wonder if the breeder can clarify! R2elk are these your birds on the page?
If a male of them were to cross back to a bourbon red, would the outcome bet the same?
Has anyone crossed these that might have adult pictures? I have two poults. I'm just curious to see how they might turn out. Right now they are medium/dark barred brown.
We have two young turkeys that free range in the afternoons with our chickens and ducks and go into roost at night. The breeder that we buy most of our stock from has turkeys free ranging with chickens, ducks, geese, guineas, emu etc.
I am going to peruse this thread more, but wonder if others might educate me on how I would begin a splash project. I have this little below, not sure of sex yet (though experts might help me. This photo was about two weeks ago. The coloration seems to be holding, along with the very heavy...
They're definitely learning. They eat pretty well now, but I do have to keep the food contrasted with greens or their vitamin supplement still. They love scrambled eggs. Water wise they are doing great. And getting bigger! I'm going to have to move them to a bigger pen.
Gentlemen, There is no need for rudeness. Honestly opinions on medicated feed are vast and many, and deciding one way or another is up to the individual.
I do agree that sourcing matters, and cleanliness is of utmost importance. We keep our brooders full of fresh and dry bedding, changing...
So these are my two poults that I was worried were starving themselves. They are eating more now, especially when they dump their food bowl over. But here's a question. They are supposedly Red Bourbons. But one of them has significant barring in its feathers compared to the other. I honestly...
Lazy Gardener - A block? Sorry not clear what you ,meant :)
I have had them on medicated feed. It is not something that I normally do, and intend to switch everyone once I decide if I am going to mix my own or find an organic feed I like and can afford. But right now I am trying to make the...
I realized I never did an introduction thread. First, I apologize for that. The past few weeks have been a rollercoaster. My grandfather went into the hospital in April, moved to hospice two weeks ago, and passed away last Sunday. We had his funeral Thursday and I have been working on unwinding...
I came home to two perky poults who had eaten all their scrambled egg and some of their feed w/ vitamins. Fresh water with electrolytes moved in. Tomorrow is pen cleaning so I think I'll put sand in vs. shavings and see how we do with that. The one seems to have wet and somewhat frothy poo, but...
