Thanks I will probably try that. I also need to get the hens out cause I currently have a bantam brooder on 8 eggs in the same coop they are in and I was thinking...although I may be wrong, that she would be better off without the full size hens in with her. I have a bantam roo and I keep him...

I have an 8 month old Barred Rock roo that has been cooped by himself for months. I took him out of the flock because I had too many roos and I loved this guy and didnt want to get rid of him. I got a barred rock pullet in May and have been waiting till she is old enough to put in with him...

well I was thinking I might eventually take the RIR roo out and put him and my RIR hens together I need to get another run and coop built first. Should I maybe put two hens in with my BR roo? He seems so lonely and gets so agitated

I have an existing flock of 8 hens (2 RIR, 1 black astrolorp, 2 black sexlink and 3 white leghorns) and two roos (1 EE who is the alpha and one RIR)all 6 months old....I know two roos is too much but they get along fine believe it or not, maybe cause they been together their whole life...

I have keets that are about 8 weeks old. They are fully feathered but I think they are loosing the down on thier heads now and they look almost bald. is this normal?

Well they are fully feathered and it is 97 degrees with heat index in the 100s here I dont think they need a heat lamp. lol

I have had my keets now for about 7 weeks they are probably 8 to 9 weeks old. Are they too young to start free ranging and if so how old should they be when I do start free ranging them. THanks

well he made very tasty BBQ extremely lean...a little tough but edible. I am going to slow cook the other one and hope it is a bit more tender cause it sure was tasty

Well I do have to say that I got them being told I was getting something totally different but to be honest they are awesome birds..they are all so sweet and I love listening to the roos little crow...lol People come over and say WHAT WAS THAT.....I just laugh and say it is my little bantam...

We did not use a cone, didnt have one and wasnt expecting to have to cull a couple roosters. He did flop around alot afterwards, I hated it but I guess it could have been from that. I appreciate all the responses. I will let everyone know tomorrow if he tasted ok cause he is going on the...
