I just had my (what was meant to be 12) quail eggs delivered today to fit in my beginners little 'bator - opened the box and there is about 30 I can't incubate all these little fellas, I will only fit about 12 in the 'bator

Thanks for the info - that would explain why I was having a different reading from my two thermometers because one was on the floor and the other was above the eggs.
Hi there, I have read in a couple of places that if you have a still air incubator, the temperature should be slightly higher.
Is there any truth to this because I had a hatch last week that went wrong (no hatches) and would like to get everything right this time.
Thanks!
Well, I had no luck with my duck eggs. None of them hatched I waited and waited and they still never come.
Now I have been given some quail eggs to try - do I give this a go or not because they are probably harder to hatch than the ducks?

I'm using a little covatutto incubator, unfortunatley I haven't seen anyone else on here saying they have this one. I wasn't really expensive cus this was my first hatch and wanted to see how it went first. Maybe I should have spent more money but then again I never had a problem with...
Well time to give up on the hatches I think - day 31 and there is still no sign of the ducklings. Really sad about it really because this was my first hatch, everything looked fine i.e. humidity, temp, turning. Time to throw in the towel for these little ones. Whether to try again or not I don't...
Hi, my little duck eggs have been sat in the bator now for 29 days, I candled them before putting them on lockdown and everything looked ok (not sure about one of them) but there has been no sign any movement or peep and I thought surely there would have been something by now?
How long should I...
I must admit, I haven't seen much movement from that time either but hopefully that can be normal. Hope you get some better advice. Im on day 28 and hoping for the hatch now but still no movement
