Are chickens are 8 months old. We have about 30. A couple were laying eggs (around 4 a day) and now they have just stopped. Any ideas on what is going on?
what should be done to interduce a new flock of 7 birds to a flock of 24 birds.we have 23 that are 19 weeks old 22 females and 1 big bad rooster.we now have an additional 7 females and 1 big bad rooster to add.the newbes are about the same age. what would be the best way to do so?
We have 22 hens. They are 16 weeks old. We have 10 nesting boxes and we put hay in them so when they are ready to lay the boxes will be ready.
Well they sleep in them and use them as a litter box. They kick all of the hay out.
Will they stop this when they start laying?
We have 23 chickens. They are 13 weeks old. They go in their coop at night that has food in it and they free range all day. Do I still need to be throwing food out on the ground for them? Also when do I start the oyster shells? Right before they start laying or after?
Thanks for yout help.
We have an 8x8 coop and a 8x16 foot run. We had 25 chickens, now just 24
They love it. We let them out of the run during the day and they go back in at night and we close the door behind them. There run has turned into just a hallway from the yard to the coop.
They need plenty of ventalation...
So we finished the coop. It looks great and now we have 24 chickens, a min horse, a dog, a lizard and 2 frogs. I am trying to come up with a name for our little farm.
We are getting two goats this summer and maybe a pig and cow to raise for food.
We have almost 4 acres.
I want to come up with...
