I would like to blame it on the cold, but it is obvious to me now that it was not being used correctly. Just to let everyone know , we dried out the base completely and put a new fount on it the right way. its been 2 days and it is working fine
I just went outside and unplugged it . The thing was still working fine. Tomorrow we are going to get a new fount and place it on the base the right way.
The funny part is that its been over 2 months full of water without any problems, with the wires and element fully submersed in water! The power went out the other day for about 10 hours and it froze solid. I guess the ice must have damage the wiring and caused the short. just wondering how long...
