Yes it does have a separate run. The coop is small and would only be able to have one more small hen. I am considering that option with the Whiting True Blue hen, Inky. Should have included that with the post!!
I am having a really difficult time trying to re-home my Amauracana rooster - Mister Pepper. He is not mean but some of the hens are looking rough from his persistent "attention". I can not have him made into chicken soup. I can not have him free range as there are way too many predators...
My sweet Salmon Favorelle, Sami, was over mated by the rooster with skin showing and also had feathers on her head pulled outing it was looking pretty bad although not bleeding. When the polar vortex swept into our area, I decided it would be best for her to stay in the basement in a puppy play...
Thank you to all who responded. I made my decision and the roosters have been re-homed to a suitable farm. I pray that they will have a good life there and be an asset to the farmer. I have peace yet I miss them already. I appreciated all the advice and opinions posted.
Thank you for your frank and honest response. I needed to hear this. Thank you. I think I am coming closer to making the decision to re-home them. I am really hoping that integrating the 2 older hens with the 10 week old will go well and there will be less issues. I realize the pecking...
The 10 week olds have a 4 x 8 coop with a 9 x 13 run. 12 hens and 2 roosters. So 14 chickens in that flock. 1 year old - just 2 hens and Chickovsky the rooster.
I had thought of selling fertilized eggs, but I haven't tried as yet. However, breeding was not my initial intention nor currently...
Chickovsky attacks him even through the fence! As he walks by, he lunges at him all the way down the run.
I have considered saddles, but I struggle to get hold of the girls, even when I have isolated Chickovsky. But I will try if that's the only answer. Wondering if he would pull it off?
I am...
Rooster #1 - Chickovsky - 1 years old - hates my husband - his 2 hens have lost feathers from his obsessive copulating. Yet he is very sweet with them when they lay eggs - sits by them in the coop while they are in the nesting box; he very protective and shares his bug finds with them. But...
I have 8 week old pullets that are fully featured and enjoying their more spacious coop and to be out of the puppy playpen brooder. I also have a 1 year old rooster with his 2 ladies in another coop. I am hoping to integrate the flocks after a few weeks of eyeing either through the fence.

Very early this morning a chicks managed to climb between the plate and plastic press and seal and its stuck on her feathers down one side of her.
