As of 7-15-2019, it is now legal to keep chickens in Clinton Township Michigan. Ordinance 457 Regulating and Permits For The Keeping of Chickens.

Well, it does say complaints only valid if verified by ordinance department....still they don't make it easy to keep chickens

I would never use anything other than sand in the chicken coop. The article was correct on all information. I switched to it one year after dealing with other conventional materials, and swear by it. No more stinky, dirty coop floor. Yes, hens and eggs stay clean too!

Try elevating it only slightly-- by using a few boards or bricks. Seems to keep the water more at their lower breast area.

I have a 95lb., two year old, flat-coated retriever named Raven. She's supposed to be a bird hunting dog. She let's her four feathered sisters rule the roost! She even let's them bully her away from choice treats and scraps from the kitchen. It's quite funny to watch her try to "run away"...
