Coccidiosis? Mareks? Both? Your expert help appreciated --

And if anyone can confirm that we should immediately cull birds that are clearly having splayed legs (the splits)? We had hoped this was going to be fun :(

Coccidiosis? Mareks? Both? Your expert help appreciated --

Thank you both. Our new birds came from two different sources, and we just put together that all the problems are from one source. We have two birds left from that group and one is now beginning to exhibit signs of problems. Not sure if helps with the diagnosis. Thanks again --

Coccidiosis? Mareks? Both? Your expert help appreciated --

Hi friends – your advice and insights have always helped us through troubled times, and we’re having some rough days and nights lately – April - 25: Brought home (22) new hens and (2) roosters (several breeds, ranging from 12-14 weeks) from local breeder to add to our flock which...

    Faverolle Attacked

Sorry too for your loss. We had the same thing happen with our full size Faverolles. We have a content mix of full size and bantam breeds; but came home to find one of the Faves picked so badly that I had to put her down. They are such a pleasure. I knew how docile they were, but they were...

    Tylan 200 injection schedule

Hi Herman, Sure will. Just came in from giving her the Eprinex. I spent some time stroking her throat in a downward motion and gently squeezing her throat and crop area. We also dripped in some water (but she's obviously drinking as we've been working with her for over two weeks; maybe...

    Tylan 200 injection schedule

Thanks for the confirmation on the Eprinex Dawg; if its Gapeworm or other worms we'll hopefully see some improvement by...........tomorrow maybe? That would be 3 days since worming. We're at 48 hours after Eprinex right now, hard to see much improvement, but she's still lively; eating and...

    Tylan 200 injection schedule

I did some more looking on the forum and saw some YouTube videos that suggest our Wyandotte might have gapeworm?? The recommendation was to give SafeGuard; a cattle wormer. Can anyone corroborate and offer a recommended dosage? I do think, based on my additional findings, this might be the...

    Tylan 200 injection schedule

Wow --- now I'm not sure at all. Was following my book DISEASES OF FREE RANGE POULTRY by Victoria Roberts which prescribed an injection of Tylan 200 .5ml for an adult into the breast muscle; repeat in 48 hours. We did just that, no success. This is a full grown Wyandotte (unsure of actual...

WOW --- thank you all for sharing your advice; really really appreciate it! Our sick Wyandotte is still struggling; she's still eating and drinking but almost gasping for air, sometimes quite loudly like she can't breathe; I feel horrible and am considering culling her in the evening, but every...

    Tylan 200 injection schedule

Thank you all very much! Was so happy to see replies to my post -- 1 Lively Chick -- Only reason we went with injections is that on a thread on found elsewhere on the internet they were all recommending injections vs. provided in their drinking water; but I didn't even know that orally was...
