    Ventilation and run access

I was wondering about ventilation here in Florida, our summers are super hot (in the 100's most days!), and our winters are warm all through Christmas (until about February it gets a little chilly)! So, how much ventilation would we be needing? Also, how much access do you guys give your...

    Wire meshs' EXPENSIVE cost!

Thanks for all of the responses! We will probably be using windscreen4less.com - their prices are good! Also our stray cats for the most part are fixed and fed by a few houses, so hopefully we won't have a problem with them. As for the rats, we are using traps and posion food. Hopefully we will...

We've never owned chickens before and are planning on putting it in my neighbor's backyard (due to lack of space with our pool), and my dad is going to...

    Run flooring?

New chicken owner here, what would you guys recommend doing for the flooring on an chicken run? What I mean is, should I keep it just on grass (which I'm guessing wouldn't last long), or use sand, or a combination of a bunch of stuff etc.? Thank you for your input!

    Sand in the coop?

I am trying to decide, should I use sand in the coop? If so, what kind of sand? Also, does it stink? I am a first time chicken owner so feel free to share past experiences and tips.

    Are chickens allowed?

I live in Orange Park FL and was wondering, are chickens allowed? I have been doing research but don't seem to find answers. Is there anyone else out here in Orange Park who knows if we are able to?
