my five week old Gold laced wyandotte seems sick. she wobbles around and frequently "bunkers down" and closes her eyes. I have seen her walk around and drink water, but have not seen her eating. she is in a flock of a bunch of chickens so if she is contagious, I need to know soon.
I have three different coops at the moment. They are super friendly and its so sweet to see them sleeping at night :). It can be a handful sometimes, but I wouldn't change it fro anything.

it being a rooster is definitely possible! He has a pretty large comb for being 4 weeks old. if you notice some earlobes or the comb getting redder, it will be safe to call it a HIM.

while collecting eggs this afternoon, I noticed a chicken in a corner of the pen; she was dead. from the color of her comb, it looks as if she has been dead for a few days (I'm not always the one collecting eggs, so one of the children could have not noticed it). there were no symptoms of this...
