Thank y'all sooo much - y'all have eased my mind quite a bit. I had seen her lose feathers before but not this bad. I will still post a pic when I get home just to be sure and check for mites. Y'all are the best Thanks
My Wyandotte hen is 2 yrs old. All of a sudden this past week she has been losing her feathers. I wasn't too concerned at first but now she has lost a ton and isn't laying... She is even losing feathers around her neck area. Anyone know what this might be? Or ways to fix it?
Thanks everyone! This site has been extremely helpful.
Got the coop all finished with a few minor things to correct (In the process of changing out the fencing with something more durable)
Now just ready for the girls to start laying
Awww!!! I love it. Im working on my own now with a few modifications. I painted mine red also, like a barn. It's coming along nicely. Ill have to post pics once I'm finished. How's the metal roof doing for ya in the summer? I opted to go with shingles. I live in Texas and was afraid the metal...

The coop/run itself is only 6'x3' & 6' tall...
The below images are what I'm trying to accomplish. With a few changes.
Also, does their food and water go in the run or do I...
It is the plastic type - that's all they had at the time. I live in a subdivision though. Other than an occasional cat we don't have many predators. I'm on the look out for the hardware kind though. Just temporary for the time being. On the top part. I have a door on one side with the chicken...
Been working on a coop for my two hens this past week and I do have to brag and say I'm pretty proud of it so far. Just a couple more days and I should have it wrapped up.
Excited to have found this site. I just purchased my first 2 hens last week. They are currently 14 weeks. A blue laced & a golden laced. Ive named them Thelma and Louise. Almost half way done building their coop. I'm one proud Momma to them and am excited for what's to come.
Did anyone have any luck building off the described plans. They seem fairly easy to follow but I didn't see any follow up posts on how they turned out...
