Thank you! I’m pretty sure she’s female because of the quack but it was confusing me because of the greenish tint on the head. I saw on another thread that both female and male mallard ducklings can have the greenish tint when they are young before their first molt too.
The mom is a khaki and the dad is a mallard. I was wondering what the gender of the 2 month old duck is because even though she mimics the mother ducks quack I can see some shades of green on the head. (She hatched out of the egg with a weird looking wing we tried setting it right but it didn’t...
Only two of them ended up hatching and unfortunately the first one died in his sleep :( . But here’s a picture of the second one and he’s doing well! :)

The eggs haven’t pipped yet. And I don’t think I should take them out to candle them again because I don’t want to accidentally hurt them. They are possibly Khaki x Pekin or Khaki x Mallard and I don’t know if that has anything to do with it either. They are possibly just slower now though...
Thank you for the reply! I’ve been really worried about them all day. I did see them wiggle earlier when the power came back on! Hopefully they start pipping soon :)
I’m on day 27 of incubating my duck eggs and the power went out for around 6 hrs. I know that during days 26-28 they are supposed to be on lockdown and not moved or anything. But I put some hot water in the incubator to keep the eggs warm I didn’t move them at all. Would the power being out for...
