I'll give it a go :) Entry #1 This is Ginny, one of our very first registered Nigerian dwarf goats. She was just about two years old in this picture.

    Molting or ?

I don't think mites or diseases are involved with this, It looks like you either have an over-breeding problem or perhaps you have a bully in your flock that's pecking out the feathers. How many roosters are in your flock?

He's not getting enough copper in his diet. Copper deficiency can lead to hair loss and a whole bunch of other problems. This goat is an example of copper deficiency. He's suppose to be solid black.

    Nigerian Dwarf Goats

I'd just mix a handful or two of alfalfa per cup of sweet feed. I would also leave about about a cup or two of minerals out in a separate dish, they'll eat it when they need it. neutering a buckling can be very easy if you're just banding them. It just takes one person to hold the goat while...

    Nigerian Dwarf Goats

The timothy grass is good. How old are the kids? I'd separate and wether the buck at 8 weeks old if you plan on keeping him so he doesn't breed back to his mom or sister. As for grain bucks really shouldn't be getting any grain. I give my bucklings about a hand full of sweet feed up until...

    Is my mini pigs pregnant??

For first time mothers (in pigs) Usually once a pig is bred and far along enough the vulva will start to expand and point more up-right. This is one of the main things i look for when trying to decided whether a pig is bred or not. And it's a good way to indicate how far along the pig is...

    Getting Goat kids

This is my 3rd goat birth alone. Though to be fair the first two I had caught them already with their first kid born and only got to see the second one born 😅 I’ve got all my supplies ready just in case I have to assist. I’ve assisted with pigs and cows but this’ll be my first with goats...

    Getting Goat kids

This little girly is finally in active labor! She’s a little early and totally surprised me today when I couldn’t find any ligaments on her this morning. She’s been having small contractions here and there and is looking real uncomfortable. Hopefully she won’t pull an all-nighter and have the...

Announcement April Fools 2020 - Exciting New Chicken Breed: Quickens

I @TheChcknFrek and @McChick21 are super interested in this! I have three possibly four other households (Close friends and family members) That would possibly be interested in splitting an order. They don't have BYC accounts, Should I suggest to them to create some if we were to split an order?

We've got severe thunderstorm warnings broadcasting over here. There's some chance of tornadic activity as well. I've been busy staking everything that could possibly blow away to the ground all day. The storm's just now starting to roll in. Hopefully things wont get too crazy :fl
