Hi all. My 4 girls have been doing well. 2 actively laying and 2 retired. One of the retirees (a RIR) is a struggle as it seems she gets a poopy butt often. We've given her baths monthly and butt feather trim. Fairly recently wormed. Get fermented food and probiotics. After bath a few days...
Hi everyone. Wondering when most folks do spring worming of chickens. The weather has been weirdly warm lately, but looks like some chilly nights coming up. I wormed in August, so just want to find the best time for spring. TIA.
Thanks. Yeah, its hard. Now I'm half expecting to lose the other (last) one from her bunch. Who knows. Best luck with your girl. I'll keep my fingers crossed for her.
Sadly, Reba passed yesterday evening. 😢 Thank you @Eggcessive, @coach723, and everyone for the support and help. I've learned so much from this, and I'm sure I'll be able to use that knowledge with my remaining girls. First steps will be to finish their Corid treatment, check them for lice...
Thank you. I had pulled up their information the other day and luckily there's one fairly close to me. Unfortunately, when out giving her the syringe medicine water, I just discovered what I think are lice. Not sure if that happened because she has been in a crate and not able to dust bath...
Ok. I got the oral dose in her and will get her the medicated water as often as I can. Thankful I work from home so I can do it. Fingers crossed she pulls through.
Just checked on her to give her food and she does not look good. No interest in food and barely able to keep her eyes open :( I'm not sure she'll make its through the day.
I'll monitor her water with Corid intake today and give her the oral dose this afternoon. Since I'm new to all this, what is the best way to give the oral dose, as I keep seeing conflicting information (via syringe down the throat vs via syringe in the mouth)?
