Not sure if this is the right part of the forum, but I wouldn't be one bit insulted if the moderators changed it. The website was mentioned in someone's comment to the news article.

I'd do one of 2 things. split the entire group into 2 halves or put the submissive rooster in with the hens and let the other one drool for a little while.
I'd get a half dozen hens more for that RIR rooster. the sex-links seems like an ok idea. the cornish seems like a really good idea. maybe some white hens. if they have the silver gene, you'll get more sex-links.
I don't think that he means that the chickens will be fed ONLY grass. If a chicken free ranges, they will pick up a great deal of their nutrients from nature. They might range further and they will be much leaner than if fed just grains in a cage or smaller pen, but if you let them free range...
If I did it at all, I would use a silkie rooster, with a jersey hen. Definitely not the other way around. The hen might fair alright, but the offspring might get the size of the jersey in small the egg of silkie would make for a VERY cramped chick.
Sorry, that just sounds like eating a fetal pig. not to my taste, besides, if you waited another week, the duckling would hatch and after another few months, you could eat the duck, and probably feed 3 or 4 people, instead of having a snack.
