Are sumatra hard to incubate? Out of 19 that made it to lockdown, only 3 have hatched. The polish that were set with them are hatching very well.

I just found this thread! I'm on pins and needles here! I'm thinking you'll have 6 out of 11 hatch. :-)

What would resulting chicks look like? My polish pen has a silver laced roo, 2 silver laced hens, a WC black roo, and a WC Blue hen. The silver laced roo is the one I see mating hens, he won't let the WC black roo close to them. I threw some of their eggs in my incubator as extras to fill it...

My 16 month old hens seem to be molting. Ceased egg laying and feathers everywhere. The weather has been weird here in Oklahoma, but I thought it was too early to molt? We went from cool and rainy, to the last 3 weeks being 95-100. I thought they would molt when it cools off in the fall.

We moved in May to a new house with more land. Problem was that the fencing is incomplete around the chicken pens. My March 2014 chickens are not happy with the change. They are losing a little weight. What can I do to help them out until the fences are finished? I give them their layer feed...

I only had two eggs of 6 make it to lock down. One hatched yesterday. Can I candle the other one to see if it's okay?

What do you think on this one? I couldn't detect movement in the water but the egg was wiggling a bit in the bator two days ago.

Okay, first timer here. One of my hens has spent most of the day in the nest box. I moved her mid day and gathered eggs. She spent an hour or so in the run and then right back to the box. I just went out to check for more eggs and she just made the most horrible noise at me. Like a screeching...

Thank you! I'm not sure if you can tell, but he's blue and orange. So maybe he's the blue brassy back. I'll go look at pics!

I'm pretty sure he is an OEGB. But I can't figure out his color!
