It has a "night mode" and brightness adjustment built into the camera. I have a 15 watt bulb in the coop (16x16 ft) that is on at night just to have some dim light inside. I can see the girls on the roost faily well.. The picture is a little grainy at night, but during the day is very clear...

I use a Dlink DCS-950G wireless camera (with mic) which goes to my wireless router (over 200 ft). Then I pull it up on my pc using windows internet explorer application. The camera has a built in web server so you can literally watch it from anywhere in the world.. or (work, vacation.. etc)

I built mine inside a 50x120 ft cattle shed with cement floors.. It works great... coop is always in the shade and out of the wind/rain/snow

Surprise to us.. we got our first egg at 16 weeks + 1 day and are getting more daily from our 26 girls. They are placing them perfectly in the nester boxes each time. They roam outside the coop during the day too.. and locked up at night. A few days earlier, we just got some broiler peeps in...

You might try putting a small light (15 watt) in the coop.. My chics automatically migrate inside to the lighted coop when it gets dark outside.. Once everyone is inside on the roosts (dusk) I close the door for the night.. (dim light stays on all night)
