    Faverolles Thread

Hello everyone! I'm wondering if anyone has LF salmon with 5th toes that are completely separate from the 4rth. Some of mine have good placement but are slightly connected to the fourth by webbing. I can post pics of mine if needed for clarification. Thanks for any information you can provide.

For those of you interested in the mixes....here goes! Sorry, but I had to break this post up because I kept getting booted off :/ Mom: blue orp. Babies The bottom picture is of the young roo that was culled. The other baby I'm not yet confident is a hen due to some really pointy...

I plan on putting him over my Dunn and khaki pullets this spring to see what I get :D. His legs are solid black when I look at him but they sure look like they have a green cast in the photo....I hope it's just a trick of the lighting! I have a couple of barnyard mixed pullets out of him to...

@Tacopaco You can find Toni-Marie's website by searching country whatnot gardens. The blue egg laying Sumatras are not listed on her site but she said that she has kept breeding stock of them for years. She was wonderful to work with. She is also a member of BYC but I'm not sure how often...

I hear ya. I free range only when I am home now. It's amazing exactly how many predators love to eat chicken! :he. I am glad I started with cheap chickens, I only have three left of the original 13. Talk about a crash course on predator proofing and I've now made friends with a local trapper...

Yes, Toni-Marie was the breeder. They don't look anything like that beautiful blue roo above but appear to be pretty true to type. The Roo pictured is just growing his tail back out but even at full length it doesn't have the nice curtain I've seen on some other show quality birds. They have...

I'm in zone 3.... Brrrrrrrrrr. My Sumatras do just fine. I have a poultry base heater for their water, 4" roosts and my coop is an old concrete block, draft-free building. I add a little extra corn-based scratch to their diet in the evenings but that's about it. We had sustained -20F this...

I bought a pair from Toni-Marie last year that lay blue eggs. It's a beautiful shade of blue that I would put up against any Amearicana egg any day ! From what I read, somewhere , she may have gotten them from the university of Arkansas along time ago....but I could be wrong on that.

    Color I.d. on project bird.

I had almost the same thing happen with a cross between my gold duckwing phoenix and either my blue wheaten EE or black Sumatra roo (hidden nest). Black head with a brown body with some black flecking. I'm pretty sure that the roo is the EE......that probably doesn't help much :lol:
