Well... I only bought these intending for them to be pet quality.. I don't do any breeding. We have a rooster and if a girl goes broody, I'll give them a few eggs to hatch.. Hoping all 5 are females but I doubt i'd be so lucky. It's walking kind of funny.. Would extra toes affect quality of...

Hello all!! Just picked up a few more bbs babies and noticed a splash walking kind of funny.. Inspected it's little feet... And on the left of the picture.. is this an extra toe?.. Or deformity? Look strange to anyone else?

Surely she's laying by now? Any pictures?! :D

5 toes, blue/black skin, head tuft, looks like a silkie mix to me.. Hard to tell sex.. How old?

Wow!!! Mine looks just like a red pyle crossed with a splash! So strange.. I need to see how to go about breeding a red pyle to fully understand this little ones background.. We will probably never truly know :lau

I too just came across some pictures and forums of cuckoo silkies just yesterday! I had not even considered that there was such a thing! :rolleyes: they certainly are adorable! I will have to look at the red pyle.. Interesting! Someone tagged earlier in this post has another thread looking for...

The post I made was asking how I could have possibly ended up with a splash with so much red leakage.. I purchased the hatching eggs from a lady that had only blacks blues and splashes... Others seem to think that somewhere in the lines there is partridge in it's heritage...

Interesting!!!! I just made a post asking about an interesting splash I ended up with.. Not sure if it's a roo or hen yet at just 16 weeks old, it's still growing out.. Where in florida are you? I'm in GA.. Might be interested in giving towards your project if I can get one of the offspring :D
