Thank you! That's helpful. I really like your idea of adding an extra wood beam (purlin) as support because - you're right - the metal poles are very far apart!

Thanks, I will add it to my profile. I am in North Alabama, so it gets pretty hot and humid for sure. The top of the peak down to the side is 68" on each side. The short end length is 6ft 6", and the height/peak is also 6'6".
