I have 2 Silkies, both born in December. The Roo has the most insane comb...is this typical for a Silkie? He can't see out of his right eye because of it and when he tries to eat out of my hand his depth perception or something makes him unable to get the Treat, which makes me sad! [/IMG]
Thank you all! Fluffernutter is so much smaller than my buff brahma, but I wasn't thinking about how different they all can be within a breed. I can't wait for them to start laying eggs!
Thanks! Our other GLW look very different than Ronin, a lot more gold with very light golden heads. Is it usual to have one so dark? And you can't see the legs well, but they have a darker tint compared to the others as well.
Finally got a few decent pics of these little "ladies"... any ideas what they are?

I'm reading mixed results on which lime to use in coops. Some people are saying hydrated lime, others say ag lime. This article http://www.extension.org/pages/66918/use-of-lime-in-poultry-houses#.VV5YiiUo7qA says not to use ag lime around poultry...so I'm confused. Any help would be appreciated!
We are in the process of converting our greenhouse into a coop. My husband not thinking sprayed a bunch of wasp spray in it to kill the zillion wasps and their nests. So it pretty much got all over the floor, walls, etc. How long do I need to wait before we can set the birds up in there? And...
These little ladies (or supposed to be) all came from My Pet Chicken...any guesses to what they are? Any help would be appreciated!
