    Coop in Sun or Shade?

    I live in San Francisco and need to know if I should put my coop in the sun or shade. The weather is very temperate here, but it does get pretty chilly (35 - 50 degrees) when the fog rolls in (usually in the summer) and in the winter. If you live in SF, I would love to hear what you think.

    Newbie question about breeds

    I live in San Francisco and can have up to four chickens. I was wondering if there is any reason I shouldn't get four different breeds. I would like to get an Easter Egger, a Sex-link, a Welsummer, and a Leghorn. The Plymouth Rock also seems like a nice breed.
