Hey very new to chickens just raised a flock of mixed hens and 2 roosters for afriend just started designing my coop I live in bastrop county so it gets hot I am currently building a coop/ run I have an area cleared out under a big oak who we have kept alive thru the drought and a lot of tall yaupon shrubs in the area that will provide shade. my qeustion is can i have two much shade for the birds there is an area that gets 4 hours of sunlight in the morning is that enough sunlight?
