Need help with a stubborn hen

She was given to me grown and won't let me near her. I guess I could catch her. I have never trimmed flight feathers. I'm sure there are instructions on here and the more I think about it that might be a really good idea. If she can't fly, she can't get in the tree. Thanks.

Need help with a stubborn hen

I have been tossing around ideas to increase the roosting space and increasing the number of nesting boxes. I didn't think the coop was too small, they don't spend much time in there. I recently built it, guess I will have to think of expanding it too considering I have a Broody on 10 egg. Well...

Need help with a stubborn hen

I have thought about doing that but I am concerned she will find another tree and I won't be able to find her. Our place is heavily wooded. I think I am going to have to be a little more stubborn then her and just keep trying the lock down and then if that doesn't work scare her. Thanks

Need help with a stubborn hen

I have a hen that has decided to roost in a tree next to the coop. It all started when we got home after dark one evening and their coop door had gotten closed by the wind. I was able to get everyone else in except her, she was too high. The following evening she did it again even though the...

    Fighting with oposums

I had a possum in my coop the other night,he did not live to see another day. Luckily no physical harm was done to my hens, but some were very upset. All though the following evening some of the hens were reluctant to go back to the coop, they did get over it though. We are surrounded by lots of...

    What breed?

I rescued these two when a family left them behind and moved out of state. I have tried to determine their breed, beginning to think mixed. Any info would be great.
