    I'm in Buffalo, TX. Looks like I'm about 2 hours from you. We have a flea market this weekend that have chickens, I might go this weekend and see if there are any Cochins.

    Thank you all for the advice, I will keep you updated on the results. Hoping for a good hatch and all the help from you all will increase that chance. I've never used a brood hen, what's the best way to get her to go broody?

    I have a friend that has some buff Orpingtons, I'm going to get a hen from him to incubate the eggs for the first two weeks before I put them in the incubator. I've heard that works pretty well

    I have 6 eggs coming, plan to incubate temp at 99.5 and wet bulb 86-87

    They are being shipped from South Carolina to Texas. Should I use the auto turner and flip the eggs 3 times a day?

    I've hatched and raised game birds and chickens, these will be my first peafowl, everything I've been reading about incubating the eggs are horror stories, and they're being shipped, so I have that to deal with also.

    Thank you for the info, I'll check that out. Just want to do it right, those eggs are expensive!
