Trying to get them to lay in the coop. I have 3 sitting under the house where I can't get tp them. I just wrangled and got 3 girls in the coop. I have collected 3 eggs so far.
Oh goodness, I know you're talking about! Mine have tried and sometimes even succeeded in making a nest in every possible place you can imagine, plus some!
Some of the places include: under their coop, inside a tree stump, underneath a tarp in a coal pile, inside of an old tire, and even sometimes in their coop like they're supposed to - can you believe it!!!
Are your Muscovies broody? Are they trying to lay enough eggs in the nest to hatch them? When my 'scovies made a nest and went broody underneath their coop I just let them hatch them. It worked out ok and they hatched lots of ducklings.
I don't know if you want them to hatch the eggs or not, but if you do want them to, it might be ok to let them make their nest wherever they want and hatch their eggs if they are broody.
