I had Auracanas in the past and I thought these Ameraucanas would be the same. They are not. They do lay beautiful eggs. The hens are very curious which is good, and not so good. They tend to pick at each other if they get bored. I'm wondering if they are smarter than the average chicken. It was easy to train them to return to the coop when I need them to.
It seems to me that the roosters are rough on the girls. I'm not sure if it is just MY rooster, or if this is the overall disposition of the little guys.
