I think my two are Easter Eggers. They have the willow green legs. Both are white with black and brown feathering. I have a roo and a pullet. Combs look like pea combs.

Jersey Giant

Updated
Just found out she was a Jersey Giant. Learned this when I asked about the purple sheen on her feathers, which I learned is likely caused by a problem with diet that will correct. She does have some green sheen now. Was told to look at the bottom of her feet, because a Jersey Giant will have black legs with the bottoms of the feet being yellow, and hers are quite yellow. Can't wait to see her fully mature.

My barred rock is probably a mix breed, which is fine. She was part of a young man's breed project. She is only 8 weeks. Will edit when I know more about her.

Pros: nice plump birds
Cons: a little standoffish
My slw's are only about 2 weeks old now. They are cute little round fluff balls still. Starting to get their wing feathers and tail feathers now. Round little bodies. They fall asleep standing up, then flop over....funny.

My SLW's are now 26 weeks old. They are big and plump, very pretty pullets. One has more white to her coloring that the other 3. They are farm hens, I don't treat any of my chickens like pets necessarily. They get treats here and there, but daily receive laying pellets, scratch grains, and kitchen scraps and get to free range part of the day. They tend to flock together, but my flock as a whole does this, there are 3-4 cliques in the whold flock. The leghorns and stars stick together, the EE's stick together, and the SLW's and Dark Bantam Brahmas stick together, and I have 2 pullets that are Spangled hamburg mixes that stick together. They all go off in their own little groups.

Silkie

Pros: Fun to watch
Cons: not a great layer
Love my Silkies, they are a fun addition to the flock. My roo, Prune, is a splash, he is just now becoming assertive with the flock. Maybe we'll get some fertilized eggs soon. My hen, Lovey, hasn't laid yet (since I got them) and she is quite assertive, she tells the other hens whats up. Though she doesn't like to go back into the hen house at night, tries to roost anywhere else. One morning I woke up to find Lovey not in the coop at all, she was out roaming around. She must have found a nest spot in the hay stack. Silly girl. My silkies are very aloof birds.

My 4 little ones are just 3 weeks old. When I got them (1 week old) they had pasty butts and had to have baths each day. They are doing well now and last bath was a few days ago. Love the little feathers on their legs. Very cute and inquisitive. I have 1 light, who I think is a little roo, and 4 dark, 1 of which may be a roo.....If they are roos I will have to determine whether or not they will get along with my Silkie roo (1 yr old) and my EE roo who is 8 weeks old. Not sure if they can all get along or not....waiting game for now.

Araucana

Super Admin
Updated
Pros: cute
Cons: very flighty
According to the store these are the birds I purchased, but looking at the pictures here I am wondering since my chicks don't look too much like the ones pictured. Wondering if they have varying looks as chicks. My chicks do have the little tufts of feathers at the cheeks, so maybe?

Upon further investigation I found a thread that posted pictures of araucana's as chicks and it seems that I have silver duckwing and golden duckwing araucana chicks.
