I ordered this product because I have about a dozen juveniles getting ready to lay. I have a smaller version (HenGear brand) that I got a few months ago, and I love how clean they keep the eggs. The "name brand" was even pricier though so I found an alternative.The girls took to them very quickly. This ought to be enough nest space for a while. I have about 25 layers. The nest space is about 4ftx1ft.

The company had great customer service. The instructions were fairly clear and I put it together in about 1.5 hours. The holes all lined up and the end product feels sturdy and well designed.

I checked it out online and it looks to be a lower cost alternative to HenGear, Best Nestbox and Cottagecraftworks.com rollaway nesting boxes. All seem much better than the Kuhl models posted here.

It looks good, but too big for convenient mounting in my run I could use one half the size. How does the Farmstead compare to the HenGear in terms of construction? I'd really like to get my hands on all four to compare and review, but definitely don't have the budget for that.
