Polish

The Polish or Poland breed is best known for its elaborate crest of feathers that nearly cover the entirety of the head.
Pros: funny beautiful easy to catch
Cons: dumb and have trouble hearing
polish are funny but dumb. my polish runs into the walls of the coop and when another chicken touchs it, it freaks out and flys up over the chickens... very skinny, but that might be cause the person i got them from didnt make sure the got their turn to the feeder. but i still love them. they are amazingly good flyers though... i solved that problem by roofing their run
Pros: SWEET, FUNNY, NOT AT ALL AGRESSIVE. HILARIOUS TO WATCH
Cons: DUMB, DUMB,. DUMB. CONSTANTLY HAVE TO TRIM THEIR BANGS SO THEY CAN SEE.
I just love my dumb dumb chickens. They're sweet and funny and get along with everyone. I think you need to have more than one or it will get picked on by the other breeds that don't have the funky hair. They are really not bright. Even with trimmed up bangs they still run into things, run in circles and startle easily. They are a total hoot and easy to catch. I can watch them for hours.
Pros: not big eaters, and seem to be good layers of medium white eggs
Cons: skiddish...guess because they can't see well!
Well I read that they rarely go broody...so never worried about not collecting eggs daily! My flock of polish are 2 years old...so you can imagine my surprise when I went to collect eggs and one of the hens went broody and is on 11 eggs! So guess I'll be getting a bunch of polish chicks!
Pros: Cool, tolerate all climates, fairly good layers, friendly, gental
Cons: Dont see well due to crest, are often times preyed apon, spook really easily
Pros: Pretty, adventerous, lots of personality
Cons: NOISY, top hen, does not like the rooster
We have a gold laced polish named Lucille She looks like a cartoon character! We have even had to trim her head feathers as when they get wet they droop in her face and she can not see. A great layer! White eggs, although we get no babies from her due to the fact she will not let our rooster breed her. She is the noisiest chicken I have ever heard. She will scream until we let her free range. This chickens personality is as crazy as her hairdo!
Pros: Sweet, Nice Great Pets
Cons: They Never go broody Which could be good or bad, Roosters are mean
I Have Polish right now Black White Crested and the rooster is mean and the hen never goes broody she's almost always in a mood. On the other hand they make great pets and show birds as well they are friendly curious things, Polish frizzles are very showy and flashy which they are like any other polish just in my opinion cooler. They are just the cutest things when they are baby's then they grow into intelligent, powerful, beautiful birds. :)
Pros: That topknot!
Cons: don't see well
Docile nice birds that your friends will love. To keep that topknot clean, band it up or keep their water in narrow containers so it doesn't fall in and get soiled. Dust the crest regularly for mites because they can't reach it to preen.

Pros: Love their looks and temperament.
Cons: Fly really well
I just purchased 2 hens and a rooster. I am wondering if anyone trims their flight feathers on them. I would like to let them free range but afraid they will fly out of the pasture.

Pros: Polish chickens ar sooooo sweet. And they are very beatiful.
Cons: They are not very tolerent to cold and some develop heart failure.
I had a polish hen named Jewane. She died of heart failure before she even started laying eggs. I had 3 polish hens 2 died before a week and the other was Jewane. But they are soooooooooooooooo sweet. Jewane was the nicest hen I had. I love the breed but they are not hardy.
Pros: Fair Layers, Beautiful To Look At
Cons: Flighty, Often Become Spooked By Their Shadow or Crest
The Polish, otherwise known as a Poland, is a popular breed of chicken, best known for it's wild topknot of head feathers, called a crest.

They originated in the Netherlands, not in Poland, as their name suggests. They can be quite tame, but most are flighty and skittish because their crest interferes with their vision, making them unable to see things, and causing them to get spooked. Polish hens rarely go broody, and are fair layers of small, white eggs.

They come in the following colors:

Hannah.
Pros: Cute
Cons: not good reactions
Can someone PM me some info about weather they mix well or not
Pros: ornamental
Cons: slow to mature, skittish
Pros: I can't express how much I love these birds, I love to watch them forage in the yard. My pullet had the cutest egg song, she sounded like a squeek toy LOL the cockerel was handsome and love to dance a lot for the ladies. His crow matched his handsome looks. Smooth, and pleasant (but very loud, and he crowed throughout the day). I had to give them away as a pair because I live in the city and didn't want any complaints from the neighbors.

Cons: despite us handling them a lot as biddies they were still very skittish of us compared to the rest of the bird. When they were chicks they'd follow me around but once they got older the ran from me. If I had to do it over again, I wouldn't buy these as chicks to avoid the heartache of getting rid of them (unless I lived out in the country and having the roo didn't matter)

Pros: friendly, neat looking birds
We have 4 polish chickens, 2 roosters and 2 hens. It is nice that they aren't really aggressive and are pretty friendly. We raised ours from chicks (well besides our black hen we got from my sister in law) so all but the black hen are not scared of people. We gave a rooster to our father in law and he loves him, just hangs out.
Pros: Productive Layer
Cons: Limited Eyesight
I get a medium white egg from my Silver Laced Polish hen on the daily bases. She is a petite chicken compared to other breeds of my flock. However I am pleased with how beautiful she is! I think most would agree that the Polish breed are great conversation starters. My guests are always shocked - even friends of mine that have experience with chickens. Everyone loves the crest. The only con I would point out is that the crest creates limited eyesight which can be dangerous for a free ranging chicken.

My chicken is a bit muddy in this picture!

Pros: Beautiful, amusing, pretty good layers, stand out
Cons: Not so smart, can be flighty
This is my favorite breed. My polishes can be a bit jumpy, but once you got them they're super sweet. They're pretty easy to care for, and they're tough. Plus they're beautiful and their crests attract a lot of attention. Everyone who sees my polishes adores them. They're good to show, and are definitely unique. They lay well too, I got an egg a day from each of my hens in the spring and summer.
Pros: Adorable
Cons: Very Flighty
I've had about 5 Polish now and none of them have survived past 7mths...they can be perfectly healthy flying and running around with the flock and be dead ten minutes later..I cant keep um alive...
Pros: Cmical to watch, calm, sweet dispostion
Cons: picked on, restricted vision
Best ornamental fowl!
Pros: Beautiful, friendly, fluffy!
Cons: Wouldnt advise to have with other hens
I have had my polands for a year now and i love them! They are kept separetly from other hens though as their large head feathers prevents their vision, so they do tend to get picked on quite abit! (especially when you have orpingtons!)

Fantastic bird though, apart from their beautiful feathers and colours their friendly nature is second to non.

I would definately recommend buying from young as mine will happily sit on my knee and have a cuddle!
Pros: fluffy head, idk i havent had it for very long
Cons: NONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Love my polish :)
